Daily Stride #2 - Timing

Writer's picture: Dylan BellesDylan Belles

The time of day you run doesn’t matter as much as how prepared you are going into it.

I’m most productive by running in the morning when my day has a clean slate.

No mental burden, it’s my first task of the day, and because of this, I can put my full focus into it.

What you don’t want to do is go into your workout with the weight of the day pressing on your mind.

With any task that requires a large degree of mental effort, you won’t get the best out of yourself.

Whether it’s due to distraction or mental fatigue, this is not the way to approach an effort that requires you to be at 100%.

If you take your running performance seriously, consider the timing and think hard about what time of day has the least resistance on your mental state.
